Originally due to be held in 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic saw the event cancelled two years in a row, before being rescheduled for July 2022.
But airport chaos and major flight disruption over the summer meant organisers were forced to make the difficult decision to postpone again.
The event eventually went ahead from Tuesday 18 – Friday 21 October, with sessions held at the Fira Centre and Catalonia Plaza in the Spanish capital
The three-day line-up included a B2B expo, networking opportunities and a conference hosting international speakers, topped off with the black-tie gala and awards ceremony.
There were a total of 30 categories on the night, from best CBD influencer and social media campaign, to best pet range and sexual wellness brand.
Gencanna and Greentech Holdings scooped up two awards each, while it was a triumphant night for the team here at Cannabis Health who were recognised with the award for Best CBD Magazine.
The ceremony was rounded off with a moving tribute to the World CBD Awards former CEO, Michael Patterson, who sadly passed away earlier this year.
Michael’s twin brother Mark took his place to host the ceremony, with their sister Jill presenting the newly-named Micheal Patterson Award for industry pioneer to Edward Collins of Kinloch Wellness.
