It can be a dilemma when you are away as to how to consume cannabis – hotel accommodation can be strict – but a new service, HiBnb aims to change all of that.
Canada-based HiBnb, a new online booking marketplace for cannabis-focused accommodations, excursions and activities, aims to help consumers find places and events that are open to them consuming.
The service works much the same as Air BnB in that guests can book cannabis-friendly vacations, events, ventures and experiences online. It also offers the chance to become a host, allowing consumers to enjoy cannabis in a safe space while travelling.
The Canadian company says it is the first of its kind and is not affiliated with Air BnB.
So far, the accommodation is only open to Canada but this may change in the future to other legal locations.
An example of one of the canna-events was an invite to Art in the Park in Toronto where guests could explore their creativity with cannabis companies while painting and networking. They also offer a high tea yoga event where guests can learn to incorporate cannabis into their spiritual and healing practices.
So far, prices for accommodation are set around CAN$75 upwards for one night.
New accommodation
It is also possible to book an ‘infused dining experience’ which can be hosted in your own home. A cannabis chef can create a dinner with a difference catered to your tastes. Oh, and they will do the washing up too. Other experiences include comedy, yoga, classes and massage.
In a press release, Elizabeth Becker, the founder of Hibnb accommodation said: “Cannabis became legal in Canada and aside from purchasing at a legal store, nothing else really changed, there weren’t any solutions for Canadians looking to enjoy these newly legal products and integrate them in their social and travels plans in the same way they can with alcoholic beverages.”
“HiBnb was created for the people who want to enjoy in social settings, when they are travelling, and doing things they love, all while feeling comfortable and leaving the stigma behind.”
